Pocophone F2 Pro, as it was also with the K30, is the aesthetics, nothing revolutionary but still very different from the canonical quad camera with traffic lights, gradient coloring, and frontal hole on the left. On the F2 Pro, a porthole stands out on the glass back cover with four cameras inside connected by a well-made graphics, the glass is slightly rounded at the edges to favor grip, and the frame is shiny but allows us a good grip.
The red power button should be mentioned on the structure, which returns that extra touch of chic. Once the display is turned on, the absence of holes or notches is undoubtedly striking, with the return to the pop-up camera!

Aesthetically it is something different, recognizable!

Pocophone F2 Pro: display and unlock
To unlock the smartphone, we have the fingerprint under the display that works great. Still, if necessary, we can also take advantage of the 2D face to unlock via the pop-up camera, a solution that is not immediate but visually impacting if you want to impress your friends, above all in this 2020, where explanations of this type have decimated!
The fact that the fingerprint sensor is below the display will have already let you know that we have an AMOLED display, and it is an excellent display! Continuously passing from Mi10 to this Pocophone, you never get the feeling of “getting worse”; it will also be that the much-hated “curved edges” are not present. The resolution stops at FHD +, and unfortunately, we have the L1 DRMs, but the Amazon certification is still missing, so Prime Video only stops at 480P.
As for the display under the direct sun in the full auto mode, we reach peaks of 850 Nits while real-life, we stop at 500, which are still very honest.
Display refresh rate question: everyone expected at least 90HZ if not 120HZ as it was with the Pocophone X2 while, in the end, we find ourselves with the canonical 60Hz! While it is not a drama to have one or the other solution, given the price, having the possibility of having a refresh rate at 90Hz would undoubtedly have been pleasant!
Pocophone F2 Pro: calls and speaker
The calls, as you can hear in the video review, are OK in very windy conditions. However, the microphones will have difficulty capturing our voice; you could work a little better on canceling the noise having two microphones available.
What amazes me is the reception, fantastic! Even in wild places, we managed to go to 4G + perfectly combined with TIM, where other phones often struggle even to get 2G: passed with flying colors!
The mono speaker is OK, but the stereo sound was expected as on the previous F1! The audio that comes out from the speaker is comparable to that of a Redmi Note 9 Pro, which costs half the Poco!
Pocophone F2 Pro: hardware and battery
Under the body of the Pocophone F2 Pro, we find the Snapdragon 865 with support for 5G on the modem side accompanied by DDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 memories; in short, nothing we can complain about and in fact, both in everyday use and in gaming we have a full experience! The dissipation system works perfectly, and we will hardly ever feel this smartphone heating up heavily.
The temperature management certainly also helps the battery, which allowed us to end a full day in 4g / 5g with lots of cell changes and signal holes around Rome and the suburbs with 5h of active display and lots of passive use + gaming. In a canonical WiFi day, I reached 11h and 30min in a day and a half of use; in short, the 4700mAh are approved! Noteworthy is Type C’s presence, which unfortunately does not support video output, so no gaming on large screens.
As for connectivity, there is GPS and Bluetooth 5.1, as well as NFC and WiFi 6. There is support for fast charging at 30W via cable, but wireless charging is not available. Pocophone F2 Pro: the camera
Poco F2 Pro Camera chapter:
- The selfie cam remained practically identical to that of Mi9T / Mi9T Pro, therefore a good standard but nothing exceptional.
- The ultra-wide-angle camera is suitable for a different point of view, but it is of low quality, you lose many details on the road, and it does not have autofocus.
- The primary 64MPX camera is based on the Sony IMX686 sensor, so one step more than the 64Mpx that we find on the Redmi Note 9, for example, but the results, in the end, are not too far away also due to the absence of an OIS which at this price was legitimate to expect! The results are OK mainly if we shoot in RAW and spend a few minutes editing the photos but behold that it was fair to expect more at this price.
- The other two rear cameras are a macro and an almost useless aid; being of very questionable quality, we will soon forget their presence. They serve more to make up the technical sheet number than anything else.
- -The videos reach up to 4K at 60fps, precise daytime focus, instead only digital and mediocre stabilization. SlowMotion that even reach simulated 960FPS, and they did not disappoint me
