What is Amazon Kindle?

Amazon provides the best eBook readers which you can buy. It depends on your requirements and budget, you can choose mid-range Paperwhite, an entry-level Kindle, or an upscale Oasis Kindle. Irrespective of your choice, one of these eBook readers is great.

All Kindles come in two versions: with a special offer and without a special offer. Selecting them with a special offer will show ads on the lock screen and possibly elsewhere, but you will save money.

How to get started on your Kindle

Once you’ve purchased your Kindle, all that’s left to do is set it up. Charge the Kindle to the full using the included micro-USB cable and power adapter (not included – we recommend the AUKEY charger).

If for some reason your Kindle isn’t charging, there’s usually a simple solution.

You will then be asked to log into your Wi-Fi network so that you can complete the setup process. You will be asked to sign in or create an Amazon account, add a credit card for purchases, and more.

Once you have entered your details you can start downloading books etc. If you’ve purchased an eBook from Amazon with this account, you can download it now.

It’s pretty simple, but Amazon has a breakdown of all the features and settings here.

If you already have a Kindle but aren’t sure what type or generation it is, check out our guide on how to find your Kindle version here.

Buy e-books from the Kindle Store on Amazon

Amazon has millions of e-books in its store, so you may be able to find what you’re looking for. First, make sure you’re connected to the internet and click the little shopping cart icon at the top of your Kindle. There you can see all categories, genres, offers, recommendations, and more.

When you get the title which you want, tap on it to see the price. If you’re good at the price, just click the Buy for $ 109 button. Your eBook will be downloaded and it’s ready to read.

You can also click Test Samples to read the first chapter or so before you decide to buy.

If you don’t want to bu but you want to remember the title, you can tap Add to List. The eBook will appear on your Kindle Wishlist. You can see your Kindle’s Wish List by pressing on the three menu items which are in the top left corner of your Kindle and select My Reading List. There you will see all the downloaded samples and your wish list.

If you want to receive e-books on your Kindle that you’ve previously downloaded to your computer or phone, make sure you’re connected to the internet by turning off airplane mode, tapping the gear icon, then tapping My Kindle sync. Your new title must be downloaded.

The Kindle Store also has a Deals section where you can view all the discounted eBook offers that are currently available. You’d be surprised how many great titles sell. In order to receive notification of e-book sales, you must register with BookBub, which we explain at the bottom of this page.

If you find that you’re spending over $ 10 a month on eBooks, consider a Kindle Unlimited subscription (see below) to access the more than a million titles you can read in a month.
